Villa Dimmie is a spacious, comfortable villa suitable for families and groups alike. Newly renovated, the modern interiors provide a welcoming place to relax after a busy day of sightseeing. Set in a tranquil, traditional village, there are a couple of tavernas and a handy mini market within walking distance. Meanwhile, the picturesque Rethymnon, with its Venetian harbour and array of cosmopolitan eateries, is just a 20 minute drive away. Back at the villa, enjoy the attractive pool area and spacious terraces with views that stretch for miles. You’ll have several lovely spots to gather and watch the sunset come evening. WiFi and air conditioning/ heating in all the bedrooms are included.

The pool area has ample space for 8 sunbeds and the covered BBQ and dining table are situated adjacent to the pool. At the opposite end of the terrace from the villa is a beautiful mature mulberry tree which provides wonderful shade from the midday sun.You’ll find a contemporary shower room on each floor that feature neutral toned tiles and stylish black fixtures. The bedrooms are decorated in a modern, minimalist style. There are 2 double bedrooms on the ground floor – 1 of which has access to the covered terrace overlooking the pool. The other has access to a small, covered terrace at the front of the villa, where you’ll find a bistro table and a couple of chairs. 2 twin bedrooms on the first floor complete the facilities. Doors from both twin bedrooms lead out to a grand terrace with far reaching views of the sea and mountains.

The living space is decorated in a bright, inviting style, finished with statement lighting. You’ll have a comfortable lounge to unwind in that comes complete with a smart TV, a dining table with chairs for 8. Plus, there’s a fully equipped kitchen, 1 step up. Patio doors open on to the terrace overlooking the pool, where there is comfortable rattan furniture – an ideal place to relax with a glass of wine.

There are 2 entrances to the villa. The main entrance is from the side path which leads down to the pool terrace and is accessed by a flight of steps. The second entrance is by the parking area and leads directly into the kitchen via just a couple of steps.

In order to reach the villa, you have to pass under an archway which is quite narrow and only wide enough for a small car. For larger vehicles, parking is available on the other side of the archway, approximately 60 metres away from the villa.

Villa Dimmie is a great choice for families or groups who want to experience Cretan life up close and personal. Set in the traditional village of Chromonastiri, the surrounding areas are teeming with wildlife allowing opportunities for wonderful walks and bird spotting. Within the village are a couple of tavernas and shops for essentials, as well as a military museum with exhibits from as far back as the Venetian times. Rethymnon, just 20 minutes’ drive away, has plenty to offer any visitor. From the bougainvillea dappled alleyways to the Venetian fortress and harbour, it’s a lovely setting to explore and dine out in. The beaches in and around Rethymnon offer wide, sandy shores and good facilities.
